The Norwegian Ambassador to Spain, Nils Haugstveit, visited the facilities of the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands in Taliarte, taking an interest in joint actions in the field of marine renewable energies and aquaculture, as well as in the regulatory advances to develop these types of activities in the Canary Islands.
The CEO of PLOCAN, José Joaquín Hernández Brito, informed the Norwegian ambassador and his companions, the Norwegian consul in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Odd Are Tveit, the director of Innovation, Grethe Bergsland, and Eva Puig, head of Communications, about the activities and projects of the unique scientific and technical infrastructure.
Hernández Brito highlighted PLOCAN’s interest in studying cooperation with Norwegian companies in the speciality of technology centres.
Spain is an important partner for Norway in Europe and the Scandinavian country maintains close cooperation in the political, commercial, and cultural spheres. In addition to promoting Norwegian interests in Spain, the Norwegian Embassy cooperates with Spain on a wide range of issues where both countries have common interests, both in Europe and globally.
