Representatives of the Dutch company Maritime Sisters, a leading specialist in innovation management in the marine-maritime sector, have visited the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN). Attendees had the opportunity to explore the ICTS facilities and learn first-hand about the capabilities and activities that PLOCAN currently has and undertakes, in order to identify potential collaboration frameworks.
The visit of Maritime Sisters reinforces its commitment to sustainability and technological innovation in the marine-maritime field, as well as its interest to partnership in the development of new solutions able to improve ocean’s exploration, management and conservation. Both entities shared ideas about future collaborations in the implementation of technologies and procedures aimed at promoting the transition towards a more sustainable model of marine resource management in the context of the Blue Economy.
This visit highlights once again the importance of alliances between technology-based companies and public entities linked to both R&D and services (in the case of ICTS) in order to advance through efficient and sustainable collaboration frameworks in the understanding of the ocean and its ecosystems, thus contributing to a more sustainable use of its resources and their protection against global challenges.
