The delegation of the Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Las Palmas de GC visits PLOCAN

The delegation of the Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which was composed of the Consul General Keunseok Jeon, the Consul for Fisheries Changhee Lee and Kilsun Kim, advisor to the Consulate, has visited the onshore facilities of the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands to learn about the activities, services and projects of the ICTS (Unique Scientific and Technical Infrastructure) and to establish future lines of collaboration in the field of the blue economy.

The CEO of PLOCAN, José Joaquín Hernández Brito, has presented the attendees the latest projects and initiatives developed in the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands and has informed them about the new ways and references that PLOCAN provides to develop a new relationship with the ocean, promoting science and technology excellence to develop and validate new models in order to mitigate climate change, based on the energy transition and the conservation of the marine environmental quality.

At the end of the presentation, the members of the delegation were able to visit the onshore facilities, including the gliders laboratory where they received information on the different technologies that are used, the activities developed, the missions of the vehicles and related projects.
