The Charge d’Affaires of the Norwegian Embassy in Spain visits PLOCAN

The Charge d’Affaires of the Norwegian Embassy in Spain, Odd Mølster, visited the onshore facilities of the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands and was interested in the activities developed by the Consortium and in the currently active projects in which Norwegian companies, institutions and engineers participate.

The CEO of PLOCAN, José Joaquín Hernández Brito, informed the Norwegian diplomat of the latest initiatives developed in PLOCAN, highlighting the European BOOST (Bringing Offshore Ocean Sun to the global market) project, which objective is to develop a floating photovoltaic solar energy prototype, which will be tested at the Test Site of PLOCAN.

The project, which is led by the Norwegian company Fred Olsen Renewables, has a budget of more than 4 million euros and will last for 30 months. Ocean Sun (Norway), Innosea (France), the Technological Institute of the Canary Islands (ITC) and PLOCAN are also members of the consortium.
