WELCOME: Wave Energy Lift Converter Multiple Spain

The WELCOME project specifically advances one of PLOCAN’s strategic lines as it puts the planned test bed into operation. The breakthrough is possible because in this case we intend to test a device to feed a meteoceanographic observation array, trying to provide a solution to one of the basic problems of ocean observation, such as power limitation, which is the current controlling factor for the number of observations, frequency and amount of transmittable information.

The CONSORCI ESCOLA INDUSTRIAL de Barcelona (CEIB) carried out the modelling of the APC-Pisys buoyant system and the necessary scientific and technical advice. ANORTEC built and assembled the mechanisms and parts of the system foreseen in the project based on the design of PIPO SYSTEMS and coordinated the installation.
