CIDIHUB 2.0: Canary Islands Digital Innovation Hub

CIDIHUB strengthens its role in the Canary Islands during the second phase of the EDIH initiative, with a strategic focus on Artificial Intelligence. It will support SMEs and the public sector through AI services, digital training, and links to key EU infrastructures, aiming to position the region as a European hub for sustainable, inclusive, and human-centric AI deployment.

The Canary Islands Digital Innovation Hub (CIDIHUB) presents its proposal for the second phase of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) initiative, building upon a successful trajectory under the initial DIGITAL Europe call. Recognised by the regional government as a strategic asset and by the European Commission for its outstanding collaborative initiatives, CIDIHUB has demonstrated strong capacity to drive digital transformation in outermost regions. With physical presence across the two provinces of the Canary Islands (Gran Canaria and Tenerife) and an alliance of 14 expert institutions, CIDIHUB offers a mature infrastructure, trusted ecosystem positioning, and deep engagement with SMEs and public sector entities.

In this new phase, CIDIHUB will consolidate its role as a regional one-stop-shop for digitalisation, while reinforcing its strategic focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in alignment with the 2025 AI Continent Action Plan. The hub will support the deployment and uptake of European AI technologies through tailored services including testing before investing, digital skills training, investment facilitation, and ecosystem development. It will offer first-line AI support services to help SMEs and public sector organisations navigate AI adoption and regulatory compliance (e.g., AI Act), while ensuring connection with key European infrastructures such as AI Factories, Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs), and the AI-on-Demand Platform.

Through its updated service portfolio and expanded network collaboration, CIDIHUB is committed to boosting regional competitiveness, reducing the digital divide, and positioning the Canary Islands as a European reference point for human-centric, sustainable and inclusive AI deployment.
