AOFFTECH: Atlantic Offshore Tech

AoffTech promotes floating offshore wind energy to support decarbonisation, EU energy independence, and climate action. Through public-private collaboration, it connects technological developments, fosters shared strategies in the Atlantic Area, and strengthens educational networks. The project balances technological, ecological, and social perspectives, requiring transnational cooperation.

AoffTech’s transnational challenge is to contribute to decarbonisation, mitigate climate change, and enhance the EU’s energy independence through floating offshore wind energy, a strategic technology for the Atlantic Area.

The overall objective is to boost the industry’s value chain and accelerate the deployment of floating offshore wind through public-private collaboration. The main results include connecting and disseminating the technological developments of offshore experimental platforms, a cross-border ESG approach to deployment, the development of a shared strategy for the Atlantic Area on floating offshore wind, and facilitating contact with the network of blue academies.

The project adopts a balanced approach that harmonizes the advancement of technocentric, ecocentric, and anthropocentric perspectives, for which transnational cooperation is required.
