The Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN) took part today in the 2025 Employment Forum of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), organised by the Vice-Rectorate for Lifelong Learning and Employability. The event, held on the Tafira Campus, brought together companies, students and ULPGC graduates with the aim of connecting university talent with the professional sector.
PLOCAN had an information stand where consortium staff presented its mission, functions and operating model as a scientific and technological infrastructure serving R&D&I in the marine and maritime sphere. Throughout the day, the main lines of activity of PLOCAN were showcased, along with the professional profiles that make up its multidisciplinary team.
During the forum, students and graduates were able to visit the PLOCAN stand to learn about the collaboration and professional development opportunities linked to the consortium, including internship opportunities, training stays and participation in research and innovation projects. Questions were also answered regarding procedures for applying for future vacancies and about the most in-demand educational backgrounds.
The ULPGC Employment Forum is consolidating its role as a meeting space between companies and university students, enabling participating organisations to present their activities and talent needs, while students and graduates can showcase their personal and academic profiles. In this way, it promotes job placement and strengthens the employability of the University’s students and graduates.
By taking part in this edition of the forum, PLOCAN reaffirms its commitment to training and the employability of young talent, as well as to strengthening collaboration between the university sector and the marine-maritime research and innovation community.
