The Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN) has joined @SeaNetwork, the international network that brings together at-sea training institutions from 27 countries and whose main objective is to promote training, student mobility, and knowledge exchange in the ocean field. This step reinforces PLOCAN’s commitment to excellence in research and innovation in the marine-maritime sector.
“Access to @SeaNetwork opens up new opportunities for us to collaborate and share experiences in training and research in marine sciences. I am convinced that this link will strengthen transatlantic ties and bring added value to our scientific work,” said Director Joaquín Hernández.
@SeaNetwork stands as a key platform to promote integration and the exchange of good practices between training centres and research entities, facilitating the consolidation of capacities in the sustainable use of the ocean. Related to this, PLOCAN is part of the OKEANO project, funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme within the HORIZON-CL6-2023-GOVERNANCE-02 call for proposals, in which it offers support to different working groups and pilot actions with the aim of strengthening collaboration between both sides of the Atlantic. This initiative promotes the creation of synergies that drive innovative solutions and coordinated development in the marine field.
With its incorporation into @SeaNetwork and its participation in OKEANO, PLOCAN strengthens its position as a benchmark in marine science research and training, promoting international cooperation and knowledge transfer to face the challenges of the future.
