PLOCAN in a panel on opportunities for the blue economy in the Canary Islands at the Oceans Conference

The Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN) will participate in the next edition of the Oceans Conference (OCEANS IEEE 2021) that will be held simultaneously in San Diego, United States, and Porto, Portugal, and that will have a specific panel dedicated to the opportunities of the blue economy in the Canary Islands organized by the United States Department of Commerce through its embassy in Madrid, with the support of the Society for Economic Development of the Canary Islands (PROEXCA) and the Marine Maritime Cluster of the Canary Islands.

The Oceans Conference is the premier global forum for scientists, engineers, and business to convene to advance in the interdisciplinary fields of ocean science and technology. It is organized by the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) and the Marine Technology Society (MTS) from September 20th to 23rd in-person and virtual.

PLOCAN participates in this edition as coordinator of a specific panel in-person in San Diego on September 23rd, in order to give continuity to the search for collaboration opportunities between companies from United States and the Canary Islands in the field of ocean technologies, which was launched last July at the Oceanic Platform with a virtual meeting organized by the Commercial Service of the United States Department of Commerce through its embassy in Madrid, in collaboration with MTS, and with the participation of PROEXCA and the Marine Maritime Cluster of the Canary Islands.

The Oceans Conference panel, which is organized by the US Department of Commerce through the Madrid embassy, aims to promote collaboration between US companies, stakeholders and groups interested in commercial and collaboration opportunities with blue economy companies of the Canary Islands that provide marine, environmental and energy technology services.
