The Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands took part in the VIII Gambuesa Científica 2023, a school science and technology fair in which science and technology projects and experiments, carried out and displayed by students from different schools in Fuerteventura, are shown.
This activity aims to promote scientific and technological vocations among students, as well as being a meeting point for teachers, where they can share experiences and establish contacts for future collaborations.
The 8th edition of Gambuesa Científica was celebrated at the Biosphere Market in Puerto del Rosario and was attended by more than 300 students who came to the PLOCAN stand and took part in a workshop on renewable energies in which educational sessions on sustainable energy sources were scheduled, highlighting their capacity to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and reduce the carbon footprint.
These workshops not only provide practical knowledge about renewable energy, but also serve as an innovative platform for education. By integrating technology and science into hands-on activities, these events stimulate STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) skills, promoting a holistic educational approach and preparing students for the challenges of the future.
The Gambuesa Científica is an activity that is part of the Miniferias de la Ciencia y la Innovación Fuerteventura/Lanzarote, promoted by the Regional Ministry of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture of the Canary Islands Government through the Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society (ACIISI), with the collaboration of the Fuerteventura and Lanzarote Island Councils and the Fuerteventura Technology Park.
