PLOCAN and Canada Explore Potential Synergies in Ocean Research and Marine Technology

The Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN) has hosted a meeting with representatives from the Canadian Embassy in Spain at its onshore headquarters. The Canadian delegation expressed interest in gaining firsthand knowledge of the services and facilities offered by the Consortium, which could prove valuable for scientific, technological, and marine-maritime research in the North American country.

During the encounter, various cooperation opportunities were explored, along with potential interest groups for collaboration on both sides. The discussions primarily focused on universities, research centers, businesses, and government administrations.

Throughout its history, PLOCAN has demonstrated its ability to establish international collaborations. This approach reinforces its role as a significant platform for ocean research and sustainable innovation, while opening new channels of communication with Canadian entities.
