The Strategic Council of PLOCAN is saddened to learn of the death of Miguel Ángel Montesdeoca Hernández and extends its condolences to his family and friends. Miguel Ángel Montesdeoca had been a member of the Socioeconomic Advisory Committee of PLOCAN since 2009, when he also chaired the Canary Islands Engineering Cluster.

During his long career as an engineer, entrepreneur and senior manager, Miguel Ángel Montesdeoca lent his talent and expertise to helping achieve the objectives of the Consortium, for which we will always be grateful.

In his business career, Miguel Ángel Montesdeoca pursued two lines of work: on the one hand, consultancy, technical services, and project design; and on the other, radio communications. He was director of the engineering department of the Institute of Technology and Renewable Energies and coordinated more than a dozen national and mainly European R&D projects. He was regional chair of the Spanish Association of Telecommunications Engineers (COIT) in the Canary Islands, President of the Canary Islands Association of Telecommunications Engineers (ACIT), President of the Canary Islands Engineering Cluster and member of several advisory committees.
