AutoNaut improves its autonomous marine vehicle technology in cooperation with PLOCAN

UK’s companies AutoNaut Ltd. and Seiche Ltd. have successfully conducted between July 8th and 13th , 2019 in waters of PLOCAN’s Test Site in Gran Canaria ocean trials with a 5-meter AutoNaut unmanned surface vessel (USV) suited by a dedicated payload configuration including passive acoustic and optical sensors mainly addressed to monitor marine mammals. Trials have been conducted in technical cooperation with the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) and the logistic and operational support of PLOCAN. AutoNaut is an USV propelled by the motion of the waves and able to carry on different sensor payload configurations according to user needs, addressed to improve ocean observations in both coastal and open ocean areas in a more efficient and sustainable way.
